Fresh Asian Okra (lady's finger) about 200g

Okra is a vegetable which originates from Ethiopia but is cultivated in many countries around the world. Its appearance takes the shape of long green pods with a sponge-like membrane filled with white seeds. 

Okra is less known for its flavour but rather for it’s gelatinous texture once cooked (mostly when boiled). It’s also typically eaten after being cooked in recipes alongside ingredients with rich flavours and textures rather than alone in dishes such as soups and stews but it can also be fried and grilled. 

Okra pairs well with basil, garlic, onions, pickled vegetables, chillies and peppercorns.
