Thai Krathon/Santol fruit is a fruit with a white, hairy rind that is eaten raw or cooked. It is also used in jams, jellies, and other desserts. Krathon/Santol fruit is related to the starfruit and grows in the tropics of Southeast Asia and Indonesia. It is also known as the "Kamias" in the Philippines. The fruit has a sweet flavour with a slight tang. It is often eaten as a snack or dessert, and the seeds are sometimes used to make coffee. This Thai fruit is sweet and creamy and in Thailand is often used as an ingredient in papaya salad (som tum).
